Final league place - 8th with 7 points - 1 point above Gravesend 4's

Both a disappointing season and an encouraging one. Disappointing because of the weather and the fact that I was unable to play for most of it and Alisha only managed 2 games before she fractured her shoulder and she hasn't played since. Encouraging because of the performance of the youngsters - namely Surane, Sammy and Keeley. Standing on the side-line week after week I have been able to follow their progress and I am really positive for the next season. What every team needs is to score goals and with the team I have at the moment there is a real chance of that happening. My defence is strong and has years of experience. Cool and calm under pressure. Diane and Jackie D made a welcome return to the 3rd team and added a new dimension to our game - dynamic, penetrating runs down the wing and superb shots across goal. Diane is an excellent coach too and has certainly helped to encourage the young ones. My thanks must go to all my regular players who turn out week after week. Team selection remains a problem and I have found it really helpful to have a core of players that I can rely on. A special mention must go to Julie and Ophelia who I don't think have missed more than one game this season. Julie has also played on the pitch and in goal without complaint. Ophelia continues to promote the good name of Dartford hockey through her delicious cakes and bread pudding.
