10th April 2010
Tunbridge Wells 4 - Dartford (3) 0
Last match of the season and much as we all enjoy playing, I for one am glad to see the end. The sun was shining and it was just too hot to play hockey - even at 10am! The scoreline doesn't reflect the chance and efforts of the forward line, including the goal hanging efforts of Sharon, playing despite injuring herself in the first half. Fantastic defending as ever from Jo in goal and the rest of the defence.
We finish the season 8th with 10 points.
27th March 2010
Dartford (3) 1 - Folkestone 8
Folkestone came to the match knowing they needed to win and increase their goal difference to win the division. Attacking from the off, Folkestone scored from the first push back and continued like thos for the entire match. Despite to amazing defending, including a brilliant display of goalkeeping form Julie, we were never going to win. Credit to Juile for continuing to play despite a shoulder injury as the result of two opposition players landingon her and to Dawn for stepping in when a second injury ended her game. A strong contender for goal of the season goes to Becky for taking the ball from the haflway line and beating the keeper - and putting the post deflected ball in the back of the goal.
13th March 2010
Addiscombe 4 - Darford (3) 1 (Friendly)
Despite half the team getting lost in Croydon, the third team with help from Sharon and Jo playing their second match of the day (thanks, we appreciated it) we played a friendly against strong hitting opposition. "Awesome on the astro" Dawn was unlucky not to have scored from two short corners, and Issy and Becky were strong as ever in open play. With Capatin Cathy injured and no subs, Addiscombe loaned a player in the spirit that friendlies are meant to be played in. Issy finally scored with a goal that really should have counted as two - both the ball and her ended up in the back of the goal!
6th March 2010
Dartford (3) 0 - Holcombe 3
Delays on the A2 meant a very late start without proper warm up or a full team for both sides. Despite this a good effort was put in with some really good pressure from the Dartford forwards however unlike Holcombe, we were unable to finish with Vicky making an unstopable shot only marginally wide as out best chance.

20th February 2010
University of Kent 1 - Dartford (3) 0
Don't let the score line fool you, this ranks as one of the best team performances of the season. The defence stood strong against the leaders of the league only conceding with 8 minutes left. Some fantastic goalkeeping was supported by equally brilliant defence. The midfield and forwards rallied back to defend and fought hard to score but despite some brave effots our goal was not meant to be. The true measure of the victory was the frustration of the opposition - and the aches and bruises the next day.
13th February 2010
Dartford (3) 2 - Sutton Vallence Russets 7
Despite taking the lead in the first half, we ran out of steam in the second half (not helped by one of our backs scoring for the opposition). The opposition's younger legs just had the advantage in the biting cold.
6th February 2010
Cliftonville 3 - Dartford (3) 0
At the crack of dawn, the 3rds made their way through the fog to St Lawrence College Ramsgate. The team was rather depleted – 7 players to be exact – and I had half a mind to concede the game and play a friendly. I am glad I didn’t.
Everyone gave 110% . The defence was brilliant, Julie made some cracking saves and we even managed to get the ball into the opposition D. At half time we had held them down to 2 – 0.
The second half was just as hard fought. We had a few injuries but we battled on and finished the game 3 – 0.
It was a tremendous result and I couldn’t have asked for more from the team.
23rd January 2010
Dartford (2) 4 - Dartford (3) 0
The much anticipate derby match didn't quite go to plan. Unable to field a full third team we borrowed from the first team but couldn't quite beat them. The thirds played well at times it looked like the ball was glued to Issie's stick, and with Becky one - on - one with the keeper we had our chances. But then again. They were our second team...
16th February 2010
Dartford (3) 4 - Ashford 4 (Friendly)
A fantastic game saw the third team run off the Christmas excesses. A true friendly match, players from Dartford making up the numbers for Ashford so the match could go ahead, and an Ashford player umpiring - excellent multi-tasking! Some might say Dartford gave the strongest players to Ashford, especially with "awesome on the astro" Dawn scoring not once but twice for them (same for us next week please!). Excellent goals from Issie, Becky and Helen made a fair draw at the final whistle. Despite the cold and rain a match enjoyed by everyone, perhaps with the exception of the windswept spectators!
5th December 2009
Folkestone Optimist 6 - Dartford 0
We always knew this would be tough, but the team put in a good performance, with some brilliant defending against a very loud opposition. The umpire appeared unsighted to the football that happened in the D accounting for the last goal and even left a potty mouthed challenge to a decision (in Dartford's favour) go without warning.
We enter the Christmas break 8th in the division, with one team having pulled out of the league.
28th November 2009
Dartford (3) - 4 Wellcome 0
Match conceded by Wellcome
21st November 2009
Holcombe 0 - Dartford (3) 1
A full team (with subs!!) made the short journey to the fixture that last year saw one player go off to hospital in a neck brace (thankfully OK), and another break her wrist (me, not OK). This year, thankfully no injuries but the match did not dissapoint. The first half saw Holcombe have a shot bounce from the inside of the post stop on the line with both teams racing to get the final touch - well done Julie and Jo for clearing it in the end. The deadlock was broken laste in the second half by Captain Fantastic herself. Well done for a great team effort and a brilliant final touch from Cathy.
14th November 2009
Old Bordenians - 6 Dartford (3) - 0
We struggled for players for this fixture and went with 10. Unfortuantely Old Bordenians had a very young and energetic team with several very strong players. Due to this we struggled to keep possession of the ball and ended up running ourselves ragged back in defensive mode. The game was very "scrappy" and one of the Old Bordenian players was booked in the first half, deservedly so - good decision made by Alan. We are now 8th in the league.
7th November 2009
Dartford (3) 0 - University of Kent 4
A full team turned out to put in a good performance, conceding early in the first half only bolstered the team and were unlucky to be 1-0 down at half time. The midfield and defence battled hard clearing the danger on more than once occasion upfield, Issy and Becki were unlucky not to have scored.
31st October 2009
Sutton Valence Russets 11 - Dartford (3) 0
Starting with fewer players than last week and in persistent drizzle, it was a tough match from the first minute. There were several occasions when we broke from free hits however despite the valiant efforts of the whole team, that elusive goal was not meant to be. The goal difference may have taken a battering, however our spirit could not be broken.
24th October 2009
Dartford (3) 5 - Cliftonville (3) 2
A somewhat depleted team fought hard. The first half saw the midfield and forwards dominate reflected in a 4-1 lead at half time. While Cliftonville came out hard for the second half, not helped by losing players (other commitments - not cards!) Dartford defended hard to retain the lead Final score 5-2, goals by Allie (3) Issy and Sarah. 4th in the division with a game in hand.
10th October 2009
Burnt Ash (5) 0 - Dartford 4
Match conceded by Burnt Ash
3rd October 2009
Dartford (3rds) 0 - Dartford (2nds) 1
A well played and hotly contested match saw several new players for the the thirds contributing to a great match. The first half saw the teams evenly matched with the thirds defence holding strong only conceding early in the second half. Despite several short corners and consistent pressure, including Helen hitting the post and Becky having a shot cleared from the line, the thirds couldn't equalise.
19th September 2009
Dartford (3) 1 - Tunbridge Wells (6) 1
First league match of the season and first match at the new ground. A hard fought match, we only had 10 players, in hot September sun. After an end to end match involving several new players to the third team, Becky claimed the first goal of the season and took the season of a fantastic start.
