Sutton Russets 3 - Vs Dartford 1
The final game of the season for the 2nds and we really needed to win to secure 3rd place. We actually managed to have 12 for this fixture with the help of Rachel and Sam Moore. Unfortunately things didn't quite go according to plan; Sutton managed to sneak 2 goals in during the first half. Albeit not particularly good goals, but a goals a goal. We pulled one back in the 2nd half another amazing goal by Trudi. Sutton Russets finished the game off with one more goal. Although we had a lot of the play and several short corners we could not get any more in the back of the net. However, we have managed to stay 3rd in the table as Cliftonville lost against Holcombe.

Dartford 3 - Vs Cliftonville 1
Another hot headed game as we were fighting for 3rd place with Cliftonville. Cliftonville started off strong with some consistent passing and we thought we were in trouble with this game. However, we managed to mark them out of the game and started to move the ball around well. A lovely worked goal between the forwards gave Jackie D the first goal, well played Jane, Jackie and Trudi. 2nd goal was scored by Trudi again taking on the defence in "Trudi style", if only we could all do that! Cliftonville sneaked one back off a short corner - lifted ball perhaps, we have evidence look at Hazels thigh. Final goal of the game came from Captain, another well worked goal between the forwards Jackie D played a lovely ball to Trudi who then very unselfishly laid a lovely ball back to the penalty spot for Captain to finish off. We are now back in 3rd with the last game of the season to determine where we will finish.

Dartford 1 - Vs University of Kent 5
We knew this would be a tough fixture as University of Kent were battling it out with Folkestone to win the league. University of Kent dominated the play and had well worked short corners. The Dartford defence stayed strong and managed to clear several shots from short corners from the posts. Dartford managed a break in the second half a well worked goal from Trudi; yet again just running at the defence. Hannah was unlucky not to have scored with several chances; one of which coming off the post. We have now dropped to 4th in the league and need to beat Cliftonville next week with a hope of finishing 3rd.

Old Bordenians 2 - Vs Dartford 1
We had to start with 9 as the Twins got lost, with the help of the umpire we managed to get them to the ground so they only missed a couple of minutes of play. Old Bordenians started out strong and we struggled to hold them back, they scored the first goal from a short corner. It was only 1-0 at half time, we knew we could pull one back. Unfortunatley Old Bordenians struck another goal; again from a short corner in from the post. We managed to pull one back a well worked goal from the younger players, Izzy finished it off but I think all three of the young ones deserve credit for it. We are still 3rd in the league.

Holcombe 1 - Vs Dartford 2
We had a strong team for this fixture with the help of Izzy. Dartford scored the first goal in from the post by Izzy. We were only 1,0 up at half time and knew we needed to be careful as Holcombe could be dangerous on the breaks. We managed to score another goal in the 2nd half, scored by Trudi set up by the Captain. We felt more comfortable after having the 2nd goal scored, however Holcombe managed a break but the goal was actually scored by the Dartford defence. We are still 3rd in the league.

Meopham 1 - Vs Dartford 1
We had some delayed players so started with 10 Dartford players and one Meopham player. The pitch was partly frozen and very hard - well we notice these things now we are spoilt with our luxerious pitch. It was a very close game and both teams had some changes. Meopham managed to get the first goal of the game in the 2nd half, it was very scrappy and I'm still not convinced the ball completely crossed the line. Dartford managed to pull one back with a superb run once again from Trudi and some great positioning by Hannah.

Dartford - 4 Vs Tubridge Wells 1
We had the advantage in this game as Tunbridge Wells only came with 8 players, this meant we could optimise our extra space. Sarah scored the 1st & 2nd Dartford goals but Tunbridge Wells pulled one back quickly which meant it was 2,1 at half time. We knew we had the potential to score more goals at half time and came out strong in the 2nd half. Two more Dartford goals were scored the 1st by Jane who was so determined to score she finished it off dignified on her bum! The last goal was scored by Trudi who again just kept running at the opposition defence. Well played all! We are now back in 3rd in the league.

Dartford - 0 Vs Folkestone - 2
We knew this would be a tough game with Folkestone 2nd in the league and not lost a game so far this season. I have to say though we played fantastically and even got complimented for our "battling" from the away umpire. The defence stayed strong and we had some chances at the other end which we could not quite finish off. We did lack marking on occassions which meant Folkestone managed to put two goals past us. We have now dropped down to 4th in the league but have a game in hand on Cliftonville.

Dartford 2nd - 4 Vs Dartford 3rd - 0
The youngsters were very hyped up about the game and the usual banter kept us all on our toes. Cathy struggled for players and had a first team goalie and Caroline on their team so they were quite strong. However, they were no match for us and we kept most of the possession and had numerous attempts at goal. The first goal came from Trudi, Hannah scored the second, the third was scored by Captain - yes I scored, in the right net and on the reverse stick! Sarah slotted the last goal in the net, which led to a 4,0 victory for us! We are still 3rd in the league and have a lot of work to do to reduce the ten point lead the top two teams have got.

Meopham - 2 Vs Dartford - 1 (Friendly)
We had a full team out for this friendly fixture and knew Meopham would be out for revenge after we had beaten them earlier in the season 1, 0 at home. Meopham managed to get a goal in the first half which was very quickly compensated by a Dartford goal from Trudi. Another amazing goal where Trudi just kept running at the defence and was left one on one with the goalie and managed to slot the ball in between the goalies legs. We were unlucky to score more goals as had quite a few shots going marginly wide. Unfortunately Meopham sneaked another goal in the net and with less than ten minutes for the full time whistle we were unable to get an equaliser.

Cliftonville - 2 Vs Dartford - 1
We had a strong team for this fixture with the help of Becki & Helen from the 3rds (thanks Cathy, Becks & Helen). Unfortunately Cliftonville were much more prepared for us this week compared to last weeks friendly and had 12 players. It was a very close game but Cliftonville managed to sneak in a goal in the first half from a breaking attack. The second goal from Cliftonville came in the 2nd half in off the post (sorry I take the blame for that one). We managed to pull one back towards the end of the second half, good goal Jackie D. By that time it was too late, unfortunately the umpire was definately not on our side and we had an own goal disallowed because the ball was not completley in the D - slightly controversial. We are now 4th in the league with another tough fixture next week against Sutton Russets.

Dartford - 4 Vs Burnt Ash - 0
Burnt Ash conceded the league game, we played a friendly with Cliftonville.

Dartford - 6 Vs Cliftonville - 2
Cliftonville came with only 10 and dropped to 9 within the first 5 mins as a player went off injured. Dartford optimised the extra space and kept the majority of the possession. There were so many fantastic goals a few from short corner shots, there are too many to go into detail on them all. Goal scorers were the Twins one each, Trudi x2, Jackie Daniels and Caroline I think can claim the other one as it was actually an own goal from Cliftonville but last hit by Caroline. Look forward to the re-match with them next week in the league.

Match conceded reluctantly by Holcombe. We are currently now 4th in the league.

Dartford - 1 Vs Meopham 0 (Friendly)
Meopham struggled to get a team for this friendly which gave us a clear advantage. We had most of the possession and used the extra space well. Jackie Daniels was our saviour this week and had a fantastic run down the wing and cracked a smashing shot at the goal. Meopham came out slightly stronger in the 2nd half as more team members arrived but we still continued the pressure and were unfortunate not to score more goals. We have now dropped to 6th in the league as this game was only a friendly but our tactics have worked and we have potential to move higher in the league with our next few home fixtures.

Tunbridge Wells - 3 Vs Dartford - 1
Unfortunately we struggled for players this week and went with 9. However we managed to get a goal in the first half, and I think the team will agree it may be goal of the season. Scored by Trudi who just kept running from our own half past several players and the goalie, we all watched in awe including the opposition. We started running out of steam in the second half which meant Tunbridge had the advantage and the game finished 3-1. We are now 4th in the league.

Folkestone - 1 Vs Dartford - 0
Another important game for us as we fight our way against the teams at the top of the table. Well I think everything was against us on the day, the weather, the traffic in Dartford delaying two of our players and of course the result. We held our own in the first half and it finished 0-0 despite the several short corners from Folkestone at the end of the half. I have to say the defence played fantastically which really kept us in the game. Unfortunately we did let one in during the 2nd half, I am still convinced she used a spell and bent the post as we were all convinced that was going wide. We are holding our own and are currently 3rd in the league.

University of Kent - 3 Vs Dartford - 0
We knew this game was important to us as we had the potential to go top of the league. Maybe it was too much pressure or quite simply we were just out classed, lets go for the latter! Unfortunately we lost 3,0 and the University of Kent had most of the posession. We managed to get the ball up our end on the odd occasion and a goal went in but unfortunately Twin (sorry not sure which one) did not quite get a touch to it. It was down to honesty this goal was not allowed as the umpire had given us the goal - shame on our honesty! I guess the only other eventful part of the game, apart from their goals (we don't want to mention those) was the shorts or should I say lack of shorts, speak to Sam Craig she will explain.

Dartford 3rd - 0 V Dartford 2 - 1
It was the first league game of the season for the 2nds as the previous weeks game was cancelled. The first half of the game finished 0-0 and the two teams seemed fairly evenly matched. A change was needed at half time in order to give us an extra boost passed the 3rd teams defence. The plan worked well and Hannah managed to sneak a goal into the back of the net. However the 3rds gave it their all and managed to gain several short corners, of which Hazel made a fantastic clearance of the line which kept the three points in the bag for us! Well played both teams look forward to the re-match

First league match of the season, and the opposition conceeded. At least everyone will be fresh for the charity tournament tomorrow.
